Is the Heritage Nomination
Process Racist?
There have been reports of racist locals within boroondara of specifically targeting Auctions and property sales to people of multicultural backgrounds particularly targeting Asian, Mediterranean purchasers in the initial group of Nominations.
After a property is confirmed as sold at action or private sale to non Anglo-Saxon purchasers, local racists under the guise of Heritage Societies are nominating these properties for heritage protection and petitioning Council heritage officers to fast track heritage applications.
We are unsure as to whether Council Officers share similar racist views as these racist individuals however is is strange that out of the first 8 properties to be nominated for heritage protection, 62.5% of them have non Anglo-Saxon property owners
In a suburb where only 27% of residents are of Non-Anglosaxons, how is it that in the first batch of properties Nominated for Heritage Protecting 62.5% are non anglo-saxon.
The numbers clearly indicate that Non-Anglo Saxons are disproportionally being targeting by the Heritage Nomination Process.
Are the Historical Societies advocating
heritage nominations racist?
The Historical societies and the nominators that council is relying on to support their justification for Heritage protection of these properties do appear to be targeting properties owned or purchased by people of non Anglo-Saxon backgrounds. This in itself is the definition of racism.
Historical societies such as the following should be stripped of all public funding if they are responsible for the racist practices of the new Heritage Nomination Process:
-
Balwyn Historical Society
-
Camberwell Historical Society
-
Canterbury Historical Group
-
Hawthorn Historical Society
-
Kew Historical Society
-
Surrey Hills Historical Society
Council officers should absolutely not rely on evidence provided by anyone who is affiliated by a racist organisation as it is highly prejudiced and not independent. Despite this Council officers have included as part of their report submissions from these organisations to justify heritage listings of the nominated properties.
Individuals and organisations that are supporting racist Heritage Nomination practices should be publicly named and investigated. Public funding and Council support should NOT be extended to racist organisations and individuals associated with such racist organisations.
Is Boroondara Council racist?
Boroondara council officers are ignoring submissions from the actual property owners and their independent experts. Instead officers rely heavily on submissions from racist heritage societies in order to justify heritage protection for all 8 of the initial batch of nominated properties.
Boroondara Councillors will be voting on the adoption of the heavily biased report findings on Monday 5th August 6:30pm. From their votes we will be able to see which Councillors are complicit in these racist practices.
As a reader you can judge for yourself if the actions of Boroondara Council are of a racist nature.
